I understand the whirl wind that motherhood is. The challenges of identity, roles shifting, work, household, children and a social life can be overwhelming. Infertility, miscarriage, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and being a mother all leads to hormonal shifts, trauma, and changes that can cause depression, anxiety and intrusive thoughts. It is a normal reaction to what you have been through but none the less, distressing.
You don't need to feel alone with your thoughts. We are a safe non judgmental space to see that your experience is normal. There is help to change how you are feeling.
Our practice is specially trained in this area of women's health.
My therapy approach is one of empathy and partnering with you to understand your symptoms better.
I work with you to build meaning in your life while reducing uncomfortable feelings you may be having. Together we can help you achieve your goals to move you forward.
I give clients tools to help them manage their difficult feelings throughout the week and to work on long term relief.

Elisa Carlino, LCSW
Maternal Mental Health Specialist
I've been devoted to women's health for over two decades — and the through-line across all of it has been a deep belief that women deserve to feel supported, seen, and genuinely well.
I started my career in fitness, health, and wellness, spending 14 years helping women take care of their bodies while I pursued my Bachelor's in Health and Human Services and then my Master's in Social Work. When I transitioned into clinical work, I began with child and family counseling — often working closely with moms and kids to process trauma and navigate family relationships.
From there, I moved into medical social work at a cancer hospital, supporting patients and their families through diagnosis, treatment, grief, and loss. Some of my most meaningful work there was with breast cancer patients — walking alongside women through one of the hardest seasons of their lives.
Then I became a stay-at-home mom to my three kids — and while that chapter was full, it also opened my eyes to something I couldn't unsee: the quiet loneliness so many women carry through infertility, pregnancy loss, postpartum struggles, and the daily weight of motherhood.
I found myself naturally stepping into that space for the moms around me, offering the kind of validation I wished more women had access to. That experience led me directly to maternal mental health — and it's where my heart has been ever since.
I approach therapy the way I'd want a really good friend to show up for you: warm, genuine, and actually helpful. My goal is to help you build real tools you can use for a lifetime — not just get through the hard season, but come out of it with more clarity, confidence, and capacity across every role you carry.
And yes, there will probably be some laughter along the way, because I believe the therapeutic relationship works best when there's real rapport, real trust, and a little humor too.

Sandra Quevedo, LCSW
Maternal Mental Health + OCD Specialist

Welcome! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in OCD treatment for young adults and maternal mental health — two areas where I've seen how much the right support can change everything.
I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD, to help young adults break free from the exhausting cycle of obsessions and compulsions — and start actually living their lives.
My approach is structured and evidence-based, but always grounded in a relationship that feels warm, safe, and genuinely collaborative.
I also have a deep passion for supporting women through pregnancy, infertility, loss, and postpartum mood challenges. As a mother myself, I bring both clinical training and lived experience to this work. I know how isolating these seasons can feel and I don't think you should have to navigate them alone.
I believe therapy works best when it's built around you, your story, your goals, and your pace.
Whether you're stuck in an OCD loop or struggling to find yourself in new motherhood, I'm here to help you build something that actually lasts.

Lindsey Huttner, LCSW
Maternal Mental Health + OCD Therapist, Owner
I'm Lindsey, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Queens transplant, mom of two little boys and owner of Butterfly Effect Therapy.
My two deepest areas of specialization are OCD treatment for young adults and maternal mental health.
With OCD, I use ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) — the evidence-based approach that doesn't just help you manage symptoms but actually changes how OCD operates in your life.
With maternal mental health, I support women through the full emotional complexity of the path to motherhood: pregnancy, infertility, loss, and postpartum.
I received specialized training in this area and, as a mother myself, I understand the challenges that come up daily.
My road here wound through the Hudson Valley where I grew up, Westchester for college, and New York City for graduate school, where I earned my MSW from Fordham.
After four years of intensive family therapy, I made the long post-work drive to Adelphi University to earn my Certificate of Advanced Trauma Studies. That pursuit eventually led me to the VA in Northport, where I worked in the mental health clinic, led a behavioral therapy team, supervised graduate-level interns, and became a nationally certified VA provider in PTSD treatment and couples therapy. I later managed the Women's Health Program at a VA Medical Center, which is where my passion for maternal mental health fully came alive.
I've spent the last 11 years building my private practice here in Queens, a borough I wasn't born in but have completely fallen for. I live here with my husband, my two boys, and our dog, and I spend my weekends the same way a lot of my clients do: trying to be present, exploring parks and hiking trails, and finding the balance between full and overwhelmed.
Whether you're coming to me for OCD treatment, maternal mental health support, or anxiety therapy, you're in the right place.
I work with clients throughout New York State via telehealth — and I'm glad you're here.
- Lindsey
